This article explains how to wire money to your River account, including where to find wire instructions and what to expect during processing.
Step 1: Add cash
If you are using river.com, click "Add cash" on the homepage. If you are using the River app, tap "Cash" at the bottom of the homepage. Then, tap "Add cash."
Step 2: Select wire option
In the funding method menu, change your option to "Wire transfer."
Step 3: View wire instructions
You will now see the wire instructions for your River account.
If your wire instructions include a memo, be sure to include it when submitting your wire, as it is required for a successful transfer. This will help ensure that our Financial Operations can locate the wire deposit for your account. If no memo is provided, you can skip this step.
Step 4: Initiate wire from your bank
For most banks, you can log into your online account or app to initiate a wire transfer. However, you may need to call or visit your local bank branch as wire processes will vary by institution.

Please note that if you are wiring funds from a business bank account, your business must be onboarded with River before we can accept the wire.
Step 5: Review details and initiate wire
Review all details to ensure accuracy and initiate your wire transfer.
Step 6: Wait for wire processing
River will process your wire transfer once it is received. This usually happens within a few hours. You will receive an email notification once the wire has successfully been deposited into your River account.
If you are experiencing delays, please confirm with your bank that your wire transfer has been initiated. Most banks will send a confirmation email following the initiation of a wire transfer.
You may also ask for your Federal Wire Reference Number or for an IMAD number. For any questions regarding the status of your wire transfer, you can also contact Client Services.
Please note that River does not process wire transfer on weekends or on national holidays.
