This article explains how to connect your River account to an external app via Plaid, from signing in to selecting accounts and authorizing access.
Step 1: Open the app or service for connecting your River account
In the app or service, choose the option to add or link a bank account.
Step 2: Plaid will launch
If the app uses Plaid, you will see Plaid launch to link your account. You will need to enter a code sent to your phone. Then, tap "Continue."
Step 3: Search for River
When Plaid asks you to choose your financial institution, search for and select River. River will populate as "river.com."
Step 4: Continue to your River account
Tap "Continue to login." You will then be directed to your River app. If you notice that the connection is not working, please ensure that your River app is updated first. After updating River, try linking once more.
Step 5: Authorize access to your River account
Review the details of the connection, including what account information will be shared, then authorize access to continue. Tap "Allow access" to continue.
Step 6: Choose the accounts you want to share
Select the eligible River accounts you want to connect to the external app. You may see two items per account: one for the bitcoin holdings and one for the USD holdings. Tap "Continue" once you have selected the accounts.
Step 7: Review and confirm
Review and confirm the details of the connection. Once confirmed, the external app or service will be able to access the River account information you approved through Plaid.
Please note that if you are experiencing issues with connecting an external financial account to your River account, please ensure you have the most up-to-date version of the River app.
