How do I sell bitcoin?
This guide explains how to sell bitcoin to your River cash balance.
When you sell bitcoin on River, you are selling back to your River cash balance. For information on how to transfer this cash to your bank account, please read this Help Center guide.
Step 1: Click "Buy/Sell bitcoin"
On your River homepage, click “Buy/Sell bitcoin.”
Step 2: Click “Sell”
At the top of the window, toggle from “Buy” to “Sell.”
Step 3: Enter sell details
Enter the amount of bitcoin you would like to sell. Using the toggle arrows under the sell amount, you can denominate in either BTC or USD.
On this screen, you can select from two different order types: one-time sell or Target Sell.
Once reviewed, click “Preview sell.”
Step 4: Confirm sell details
After reviewing your sell order details, click “Sell now.” At this point, you have successfully sold bitcoin to your River cash balance. To transfer that same cash back to your bank account, please read this Help Center guide.
