How do I set up a business account with River?

With River, you can establish an account in the name of your business. Housed as a sub-account under the authorized user's account, this account has all River functionality - you can buy, sell, hold, and transfer funds or purchase miners. Unlike a typical brokerage account which allocates all activity to the authorized SSN, a business account can allocate account activity to the titled EIN. If formal onboarding is not pursued, all BTC or miners on the platform will be a part of your personal brokerage accounts.

River’s onboarding process for business accounts is made simple and easy with the help of our dedicated onboarding team! You will work with the team to guide you through completing the application and they will be there to answer any questions you may have along the way. This process will occur over email and can be completed in as little as one business day once we receive all required information. 

There are a few steps included in the onboarding process:

  1. Qualification Questions - To start the process, we will ask you a few intake questions to determine eligibility.

  2. Document Collection - River will request some documents specific to the type of entity you operate. River will also require that you fill out an application that will be provided to you at this step of the process. At this stage, we will also have you create a River account for the authorized user account that will house your entity if you do not already have one.

  3. River Review - River Compliance will review your application and send you a DocuSign agreement to be signed by all relevant parties. 

  4. Business Account Creation - Once all parties have signed, River will create the sub-account for the entity within your authorized user account. You will receive a confirmation email once everything is complete!
