This article explains how to deactivate ForceField on River, including the 5-day cooldown, how to cancel, and what to do if compromised.
Step 1: Click "Profile & Settings"
If you are using river.com, click "Profile & Settings" found in the bottom-left corner of the homepage. If you are using the River app, tap your profile icon found in the upper-left corner of the app.
Step 2: Click ForceField
Scroll down and click "ForceField." If you are using the River app, first tap "Security & Privacy" and then tap "ForceField."
Step 3: Click "Deactivate ForceField"
To deactivate, scroll down and click "Deactivate ForceField."
Step 4: Enter verification code
To continue, enter your two-factor verification code and click "Verify."
Please note that ForceField takes 5 full calendar days to completely deactivate.
Step 5: Deactivate ForceField
After your code has been "Verified," click "Yes, deactivate."
Step 6: ForceField deactivation initiated
If you wish to cancel your deactivation, you can click "Stop deactivation" within the 5-day period to continue your ForceField coverage.
Please note that if your account is compromised and you are unable to log in, you can stop deactivation with the link in any of the reminder emails during the 5-day deactivation period. These links will not require you to log in to stop your deactivation and keep ForceField active.
Please also note that you cannot expedite the 5-day deactivation period.
