What are my limits for buying and selling bitcoin?
The amount of bitcoin you can buy will depend on your funding method:
- If you wired funds or have settled cash in your River cash balance, you can buy up to $1,000,000 worth of bitcoin per transaction. For information on initiating a wire deposit, please see this Help Center article.
- If you are funding your bitcoin buys with a linked bank account, please follow the steps in this guide to find your limits. For information on linking a bank account, please see this Help Center article or this Help Center article.
There is no limit to how much bitcoin you can sell at River.
What are my limits for sending and receiving bitcoin?
After verifying your identity, you are eligible to send bitcoin from your River account. For information on verifying your account, please see this Help Center article.
There are no limits for sending or receiving. However, you are only able to send bitcoin that has cleared the holding period, plus any amount available through instant withdrawal. For more information on the holding period, please see this Help Center article.
Please note that if ForceField is activated on your account, your bitcoin is subject to a weekly maximum send limit.
What are my limits for adding or withdrawing cash?
The amount of cash you can add will depend on your funding method:
- If you are wiring funds, there is no limit to the amount of cash you can add
- If you are adding cash from a linked bank account, please read further on where to locate your account limits
River does not have a limit for withdrawing cash, so any settled cash can be withdrawn to a linked bank account. If you choose to withdraw cash instantly, the maximum you can send is your available cash balance. This is the same limit that applies to standard cash withdrawals.
Bill payments and transfers initiated from your River account are also subject to a per-transaction limit. By default, individual bill payments and transfers are limited to $50,000.
What are my limits for transfers between my accounts?
For cash, the minimum transfer amount is $0.01, and there is no maximum, so you can transfer up to your full withdrawable balance. For bitcoin, the minimum transfer amount is 10,000 satoshis. If your available-to-send balance is below 10,000 sats, you will need to transfer your full remaining balance. There is no maximum for bitcoin either, so you can transfer up to your full available-to-send balance. You can make up to 100 cash and bitcoin transfers combined in a 24-hour period. If ForceField is activated on the sending account, you can only transfer up to your remaining ForceField limit. For more information on cash or bitcoin transfers between accounts, please see this Help Center article.
What are my limits for a recurring cash deposit?
For a recurring cash deposit, your deposit amount must be at least $10 and cannot exceed your weekly linked bank limit.
If a deposit would put you over your weekly linked bank limit, it is skipped entirely. The skipped deposit is retried when your limit permits.
For more information on setting up a recurring cash deposit, please see this Help Center article.
