What are the fees for supercharged recurring buys?
There are no additional fees for supercharging your recurring buys. Fees only apply to recurring or supercharged recurring buys that execute in the first 7 days after setting up your order. For more information on recurring buy fees, please see this Help Center article.
How much can I supercharge my recurring buy?
You can choose your supercharge multiplier (25%, 50%, 100%, or 200%) for your recurring buy. For example, a $10 recurring buy with a 100% supercharge multiplier will buy $10 regularly. At the time of your recurring buy, if there is a price dip, you would buy $20 instead.
Can I edit or cancel a supercharged recurring buy?
You can turn your recurring buy into a supercharged recurring buy at any time. You can also disable supercharged buys or change the multiplier whenever you want. Additionally, you can always update the supercharge multiplier. For more information on how to do so, please see this Help Center article.
When will my supercharged recurring buy execute?
Your supercharged recurring buy will execute based on the frequency you selected. Your first buy will execute based on the start date and time selected. For example, if a weekly supercharged recurring buy is initiated at noon on a Wednesday, all subsequent buys moving forward will execute at noon on Wednesdays. Your buy will remain in effect until you cancel it.
You will buy your normal recurring amount at your scheduled frequency. However, if the price of bitcoin is at least approximately 1% lower than the moving average, you will automatically buy your supercharged amount instead of your normal recurring buy amount at your scheduled frequency.
| Supercharged recurring buy frequency | Moving average |

When is my bank account debited for a supercharged recurring buy?
When you start a daily or hourly supercharged recurring buy with River funded with your linked bank account, the bank account will only be debited once a week rather than every day. The amount will cover a week's worth of supercharged buys. If any buys are not supercharged, the unused cash will roll over to the next week.
Your bank account will be debited once a week between Monday through Friday, and the amount will be applied to your zero-fee supercharged recurring buys over the next seven days. All cash funds associated with this order will be reserved for this supercharged recurring buy.
- For example, assume you have a zero-fee daily supercharged recurring buy. Your recurring buy amount is $10 and your supercharged amount is $20. Your bank account will be debited $140 for the first week. In this example, you would need to ensure that you have $140 in your bank account to cover all potential supercharged recurring buys during the upcoming week.
- After that, your debited amount will depend on how much cash rolls over. During the week, you will buy $10 daily unless your buy is supercharged, in which you would buy $20 instead.
- Continuing with the example above, if only $100 of your $140 was used to buy bitcoin in the first week, River will only debit $100 from your bank account the following week. This is because you still have $40 left in your River cash balance, so River will only withdraw the remaining $100 to reach $140 once again.
- This means that the amount of your scheduled bank transfers may vary from week to week, depending on how many supercharged recurring buys were executed.
For weekly and monthly supercharged recurring buys funded via your linked bank account, the funds will leave from your bank account 1 to 3 business days following your transaction.
| Supercharged recurring buy frequency | Bank account will be debited |
|
Once a week |
|
1 to 3 business days following the transaction |
Please note that this only applies to supercharged recurring buys set up using your linked bank account.
